Retail Sales Associate – Kickstart Scheme

Bache Samuels are working with GI Media on the Government funded Kickstart Scheme and have a number of vacancies for a Retail Sales Associate’s to join their team.

The role:

  • Greeting customers, offering advice and information about products and services and taking payment for items.
  • Welcoming customers and offering assistance.
  • Showing customer where to find items or directing them to alternatives.
  • Handling cash, using tills and Point of Sale (POS) equipment.
  • Working towards sales targets.
  • Maintaining merchandising stands and tidying item displays.
  • Increasing sales and highlighting promotional items to customers.
  • Rotate and replenish stock on the shop floor.
  • Deal with customers returning and refunding items.
  • Being proactive an having a positive, can-do attitude.

About you:

  • Maintain a clean store and ensure that merchandise is presented in an appealing manner.
  • Receive and unload new shipments and ensure all products are listed on our till system.
  • Keep shelves fully stocked with merchandise and stay up to date with merchandise, especially new products.
  • Determine customers’ needs and wants and suggest and display these items.
  • Adhere to company guidelines and procedures.
  • Welcome and engage in conversation with customers, help them as needed.
  • Remain presentable and wear correct uniform at all times.
  • Attentive to customers’ needs and determined to provide customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to organise, prioritise, multitask, be flexible and meet deadlines.
  • A knowledge of sales standards and customer service routines is beneficial, but training will be given.
  • Must have proficient math skills to handle cash and credit card payments
  • Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, data programs and PowerPoint.
  • Must be enthusiastic, outgoing and talkative.
  • Work well with others and be a team player and be able to manage schedules and inventory.
